BIO

Anne Lemanski (b. 1969, Michigan) received her MFA from the College for Creative Arts in Detroit, MI. Lemanski’s sculptural works are composed of copper wire armatures and covered in a variety of materials, including artificial sinew and masonite. Her practice showcases  bold colors and intricate patterns of objects from her childhood and everyday surroundings. Lemanski’s work is in the permanent collections of the U.S. Department of State, Art in Embassies collection, Karachi, Pakistan; Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville, AR; Mint Museum of Craft + Design, Charlotte, NC; North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh, North Carolina; Asheville Art Museum, Asheville, North Carolina; and Fidelity Investments Corporate art collection, as well as several private collections.

 Lemanski’s work has been featured in numerous magazines and blogs. She was the recipient of the 2010-11 North Carolina Arts Council Fellowship, and is a former resident artist of the McColl Center for Art + Innovation, Charlotte, North Carolina, and the Penland School of Crafts, Penland, North Carolina. Lemanski lives and works in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
